The Other F Word

So there are two F words I love…

The firs one is the one that probably came to you mind first :)

Another is food. I mean, c’mon, who doesn't love food?

But the last F word is my new favorite: FLOW.

What is flow?

I’m glad you asked!

You know that feeling you get when you’re working or when you’re fully focused in your passion that feels like the most incredible high you’ve ever experienced?

The feeling that everything is aligned, as it should be?

The feeling you’re in the groove and every move you’re making feels right?

That’s flow!

I actually didn’t know the meaning of that term for the longest time but once I first learned about it, everything clicked.

I literally had that stereotypical “ah ha!” moment where I finally realized that’s the experience I’ve been aiming for my entire life.

And maybe you have, too.

It may sound crazy (it’s really not!) but even as millennial women, we are 100% capable and worthy of a life that fuels our internal fire.

We don’t have to spend our entire lives doing the same things, day in and day out.

We can be ourselves and make our own decisions on how we want to live our own lives.

We can put our own needs first and choose what works best for us, personally and professionally.

So when it comes to this idea of flow, that’s really important. Being in flow as often as possible is the total opposite of doing those things that are expected of us or the things we’re forced to do.

That doesn’t mean we don’t have responsibilities, but when we can be in flow, our quality of life drastically improves.

We feel energized, aligned and so much more in tune with our spiritual selves than ever before.

And flow doesn’t just apply to work: we can be in flow in all areas of our life.

Again, the goal of flow is to be “in the zone” as often as we can: that creative space where our dreams turn into reality.

But how do we do this thing flow when we have to adult?

Well, I have a few tips for you!

Expanding from our first blog post about flow, I’m sharing a few key steps that will help you to implement flow more often in your daily life!

In order to be in flow, it is so important to give yourself the permission to want. Huh?

As women, we’re conditioned to prioritize the health and well - being of our loved ones over ourselves. We live everyday focused on what everyone else needs and forget about our own. Pretty damn quickly, might I add.

So before we really get into finding our flow, we need to allow ourselves the space to think about our own needs and wants.

From there, we consider our passions and how we truly want to live.

Silencing all the outside distractions, giving into those creative, energetic bursts gives us the chance to be in flow and align with our true selves.

And once we’re in flow, we won’t want to ‘leave.’ Our bodies will thrive on the hefty doses of endorphins and crave it more and more!

So here’s to YOUR new favorite F word and living authentically :)

xoxo
